Sick of always being asked to donate money?
Donate something even more special – your time!
Join or start a One Village Action group and use your skills and creativity to wwork with other passionate people to raise the money to make our projects happen.
The Action Groups are casual and fun groups of people who contribute to supporting One Village in the following ways:
- organising a few fundraisers each year (for example movie nights, quiz nights, music festivals, etc)
- increasing One Village public exposure (for example manning stalls at festivals)
- designing/organising One Village merchandise (such as our t-shirts)
- coming up with other fundraising and awareness initiatives such as gift cards, t-shirts, donation envelopes, info stalls etc.
- taking on tasks allocated by the executive, (for example the design and printing of tickets, posters, stickers and brochures, sending out letters etc.)
Participation in a group is intended to be low pressure as tasks will be shared equally amongst the members. The Action Groups are a great way to start your involvement in One Village giving you an opportunity to learn more about the organisation and a ‘leg up’ if interested in applying for a position within the executive. It is free to join an Action Group. You may also choose to become a financial member ($10) which gives you voting rights at the Annual General Meeting for that year. Trips to Namwendwa (self-funded) will also be open to Action Group members who show great interest, passion, and dedication for One Village.
Starting your own Action Group is easy!
All you need is around 5 interested people from the one ‘institution’ (school, university etc.) who are full of good ideas and passion for making a difference.
Your group should meet around once a month to discuss and plan fundraisers or upcoming events/activities and each member should be prepared to donate a couple of hours a week to One Village work (more or less depending on what needs to be done). Action Groups must adhere to the constitution of One Village and follow the policies and procedures in place. To find out more please contact Maddy on 0411693789 or maddy.dodd@onevillage.org.au
